Date and Time Calculators
A time duration calculator works out the elapsed time between two times or two date-and-time points, including periods that cross midnight. It can also add or subtract hours and minutes and total several durations — handy for rosters, travel and billing.
For deadlines, the business days calculator counts working days between two dates and leaves out weekends and the public holidays for your state or territory, so notice periods and payment terms come out right.
Years of Service and Work Experience
To work out years of service, years of work experience or time in grade, you need the exact time between a start date and an end date (or today) in years, months and days. The age calculator does exactly this: enter your start date in place of a date of birth and the end date as the 'age at' date. Add separate periods of employment together to get total experience across several jobs.
Years of service often matters for long service leave, redundancy and award entitlements in Australia. The rules differ by state and agreement, so check the exact definition of continuous service that applies to you.
Hours Worked and Timesheets
The hours worked calculator totals a day or a week of shifts from start, finish and unpaid break times, and shows the result in hours and minutes and as decimal hours for payroll — for example, 7 hours 45 minutes is 7.75 hours. Pair it with the salary to hourly rate calculator to check your pay.
Grades, Marks and Completion Rates
To turn a mark into a percentage, divide the score by the total and multiply by 100: 42 out of 50 is 84%. The grade percentage calculator does this and shows the matching grade band, and the weighted average calculator combines assessments that count for different amounts.
A completion rate works the same way: completed items divided by total items, times 100. If 18 of 24 modules are done, the completion rate is 75%. Use the percentage calculator for this and any other 'what percent is X of Y' question.
